So um they're listening out. I just got I got us uh a new listener, a co-worker. She listened to the 90s episode, 90 movies. So she was she was a big fan. She got that was solid. She got three ninjas right off the bat. She texts me, and then that lion, what was it? Uh Rocky Loves, whatever. Emily, yeah. Yeah, yeah, she quoted that too.

[3:03] So I that I don't remember that part at all, but apparently that's uh I think just uh because I had younger siblings and stuff and watching that, and like that really spoke to me, you know, picking on your siblings.

[3:14] Yeah, I can see that. So is that a family thing? Is uh are all of you guys big jerks? No, I'm just kidding. Um no, we totally are.

[3:23] Yeah, see, mom gets it. I got in trouble just yesterday for making fun of my sister too much. So there's that.

[3:30] Well, and then he got beat up by his aunt too, because he supposedly tried to scare her.

[3:35] Oh my god, it was a setup. So my other aunt from Nevada is in as well, and everyone's staying at my aunt's affair. I know, everyone's staying at my Aunt Penny's house, and then my Aunt Penny comes up to me, like, I'm gonna go scare Aunt Marsha. Like, okay, I'm gonna blame you. Don't, because she's gonna believe it. She does it, blames me, and then Aunt Marsha comes flying out of nowhere and starts hitting me. Like it was my fault. I said it wasn't my fault, but is it your fault?

[4:00] Like, why is it so believable? Is it because that's something you would do, right? For our listeners, for our listeners, Kim isn't making an absolute disbelief uh expression of not buying. What's Kim? What's like the most embarrassing story you can you can think of for Nate? Or what's like a funny one from his childhood?

[5:11] Uh, we made our own songs. Uh it wasn't that great. It was like eighth grade, so it was a real [expletive] show. So we made like two songs, and one of them was uh look at that moose. And I think I was the the force behind the lyrics. Yeah. That sounds about right.

[5:27] Yeah. Nice. Well, that already made my honestly. This episode could be total trash and that boy band.

It will be hilarious if we get rejected now after talking about it on the show. But it looks like, so I think we're gonna be have a presence this year. Uh well, 2021, 2022, sorry, in January at the Phoenix Fan Fusion. Yep. Phoenix Fan Fusion, if you don't know, it's Phoenix Comic-Con. It's changed names a few times. It's got a bad rap a couple times, actually. A couple years ago, I remember the the year I proposed to my husband at Phoenix Comic-Con. Oh, was it the Phoenix one?

[5:41] Yeah, and that year, that was one of the weird years where they that's when they started banning props that look like weapons because some guy was actually walking around with like actual like rifles, just like around the con. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. So uh, and since then, I think that's like around the time the name started to change from Phoenix Comic-Con. And so I think it's kind of got like a bad rep. Someone pulled a fire alarm one time at the convention center. So I think the Phoenix Convention Center hates our group um naturally. But they'll love Nat 1 presents, but they're gonna love Nat One.

[5:41] Yeah, so the goal, we're hoping we're gonna hopefully be in like the podcast group, uh, like the exhibition exp exhibition area, and then also we're hoping to have a panel where we're pitching how to start your own podcast. So if you've been listening and like I could do this better than these guys, uh well, we'll tell you how to how to get started. So we're we're pitching that. So nothing official, but hopefully we'll be on the schedule soon and we'll let you all know.

See, it's it's like impossible to be a good parent because if you you show them the stuff, well then you shouldn't have shown them in that, you know, that horror stuff. But then if you don't, then they want to see it because you didn't show it. How do you win? How do you do it?

[9:07] And I don't like watching him because his dad is one of them people that will grab you when you're like right in the house.

[9:12] Yeah, he's the worst.

[9:16] All right, no joke. If we're gonna go back to stories, I would come home from school and then dad would somehow be home already. For some reason, he came home early, and he had this [expletive] werewolf mask that he would put on, and I would come in and be thinking I'm there by myself, you know, doing my thing, and then all of a sudden there'd be a werewolf on all fours hanging out in the bedroom, and like rah, and I would scream like a little like a girl. Mom! I said that. But every time, and no matter what, I always jump. I I get jump scared super easy, no matter what.

[9:16] Megan will hide in the shadows in the hallway and think it's hilarious to jump out at me, and then I jump and curl up into a bowl.

[9:56] Yeah, it's a theme though, because you showed me that video with Corvin trick-or-treating where you can like see someone hiding behind the door. That was great too. Oh, yeah. That's my boy. That's my boy. So I think this will be a long line. Um, yeah, years to come, generations to come of saw cops are gonna be scared.

[10:12] I think well, my brothers did the same thing to me, so.

[10:16] We want to talk about funny stories. Mom was scared of a fly one time.

[10:19] Oh, whatever.

[10:20] I was too she ran down the street crying because there was a fly after her.

[10:23] Grandma's telling you stories.

[10:25] No, she told me the truth, and you were crying like a baby from a little buzzing fly.

[10:29] It was getting gimme.

[10:33] But for today, uh, Halloween's coming up, and I love it. So I want to give us like a little bit of a talking point episode. Yeah. And it's gonna be supernatural. And I want to talk about just like a couple like scary little things, maybe, and then like go on to it, like realistic things. Like uh, the first thing I want to talk about is a haunted house in Massachusetts, and then there's another one that I want to talk about, which is a hotel in Tonopah, Nevada, that I've actually been to. And then first, I'd like to start off with it is extremely hard to find details on accurate stories with the way the internet is nowadays.

[10:33] Because I was looking these up to do this segment, and Megan's like, ooh, there's a haunted school here in Tucson, and I'm like, You're [expletive] me. Where? Let's go right now, right? And then the more details we try looking into, like, where? When did this happen? Supposedly, a principal died in the school, and now that principal wanders the halls of said school. And I'm like, Okay, I can see it, you know, but doing research, no dead body, no dead principal, and this school has no mention of it, which kind of makes sense on their website.

[11:49] Oh, yeah, I mean they wouldn't advertise the dead principal, like you know, like not. I would, but I can see why they wouldn't.

[11:57] But that was it was super hard. And then Megan got all uh what's that one Jim Carrey movie? Seven or what number seven, number twenty-three, twenty-three, where she took got all psycho and she's like making a pin board and [expletive]. Oh, this happened over here. I'm gonna do research over here. Yeah, the guy from Always Sunny, like, oh, and this happened over here.

[12:14] So they just can't, maybe they covered it up this whole two season.

[12:17] It could be, you don't know. I don't know. We she heard it from somewhere, like it came from something. It's on a bunch of websites saying that the school is haunted, but whenever you try to go find actual details, nothing. I don't remember.

[12:27] Does Megan have family in Tucson, or does Megan like who would she have north stuff? So then who would she get that from?

[12:34] It was just on a website. Okay. So it started on a website and then just there's a couple other websites sus. But no read real details, you know.

[12:44] But I have a quick question for everybody before we get started. You have to confirm do you believe in ghosts?

[12:49] Yes, absolutely. I've seen a ghost.

[12:51] Okay, well, I'm sure we'll get more into that then.

[12:56] I didn't know my mom believed in ghosts.

[12:57] I do. That's why I don't like horror movies.

I think like there's maybe some like higher natural order or something. I don't know, I don't know if they're ghosts per se as we imagine them, but I believe in something, I don't know what it is. Right. I guess that's that's my answer.

[13:28] Almost like energy or something, maybe if you want to get really crystal-y and patulky about it.

[13:32] Yeah, I could say that.

[13:38] We go to Renfair and I love the smell of patio.

[13:41] Okay, sorry. All right, so what is the first uh hopefully heavily researched and confirmed story that you you have?

[13:48] Okay, so the first one is called the S.K. Pierce House, and it's in Gardner, Massachusetts. And his name was Sylvester Knowlton Pierce, and this is his house. He was like a furniture maker of some kind. The house was built in 1880. Now, it has 10 bedrooms, and it took a hundred men a year and a half to build this house. It's one of these huge, like uh Victorian mansion style. Yeah, a lot of those in New England. Yep. See, I've never been, you got the leg up on me over there. Okay, okay.

[14:17] What are you trying to say?

[14:18] That you made me live in a desert my whole life, and now I'm just depressed and I love it here.

[14:23] I would rather be here than than New England, but that's uh that's another episode. I want to live where there's lighthouses.

[14:30] In Maine?

[14:31] Yes, somewhere, yes, anywhere. Okay, any it anyways. This is great.

[14:39] I didn't expect your mom to just troll you the whole time. It's exactly what I wanted. It's exactly what I deal with every day of my life, and you wonder why I'm gonna do it. I'm glad someone puts you in your place, honestly. That's all I got. Anyway, okay Mansion, Massachusetts. Sons of [expletive].

[14:51] Anyway, now the first wife died only two weeks after moving into said house. Boom. Automatically spooky. Any details there? They said it was from the flu. Uh-huh. There's a lot of that going around lately.

[15:07] A lot of people dying from the flu. Been being that dead horse for centuries.

[15:10] Yeah, they're still on it. If she would only have been vaccinated, you know, then she wouldn't have died from the flu. Okay. So then uh he gets uh later on remarried. They had a kid from the previous marriage, another kid, blah, blah, blah. The house progresses through time. It gets uh old and worn out, it turns into an inn at one point, and then it also turns into uh what's the big thing they have back? Boarding house. Yep. So it turned into a boarding house for a little bit, and now uh some other people from New Jersey recently just bought it and refurbished the whole thing, and now it's on like a haunted tour that if we were to go visit, we could take.

[15:45] Okay.

[15:46] But from the whole history, there are nine confirmed deaths inside the property of this house. They there's a bunch of hearsay about more of them, but there's nine actually documented, yeah, confirmed deaths.

[16:01] I imagine like the real estate agent who gets a sign of that and has to like tiptoe around like great property, like it's at a great price. Um, maybe nine people died there. Yeah, haunted, sorry. Haunted.

[16:12] They would love it for someone like me to want to buy that house. I'd be like, tell me more. Yeah.

[16:17] Um, all right. So interesting. Mm-hmm. What what are your thoughts there? Like what so like what are the confirmed? Yes, people died there. It doesn't mean it's haunted. So are there like confirmed sightings? Are there what's going on?

[16:30] So they have a list inside this house. If you go on the tour or whatever, there are 17 spirits residing inside this house. 17. 17. And it's like a nice spooky number, right? It depends on like what you believe in. Like, negative energy attracts negative energy. So they're like some of these spirits just that's how we start hanging out. Right. Just do negative energies, and it works out, it makes a positive. Learn your math, people. Now, they say because the spirits are already there that some others just kind of walked in. And I don't know about that, but whatever.

[17:03] You know, because it's a boarding house. Like I could see in like that kind of theme, right? It attracts other people.

[17:08] And then you're from back east, like out west, it's a little bit different, but how many houses are out there where people have died in? All of them?

[17:15] I mean, it's like it's from like the colonials, and they killed a lot of people, each other, other people, a lot of people died, right?

[17:22] Um does that necessarily make it spooky that someone just died from the flu in the house?

[17:27] No, no, absolutely. For me, no, there are way spookier stories like in New England than than that off the top of my head. So I think it's right off the bat, I'm feeling like these people are just trying to catch it in. Right. But what I can say is New Englanders love this [expletive]. And even though there is lots of historical places like the Lizzie Board and stuff and all that thing, um, we'll still pay to like go on a ghost tour, even though like we're surrounded by history and whatnot. I know all of the like I'd be very curious to see like the structure of this place because everything is so old in New England. So even like your everyday apartment has like radiators that rattle in the middle of the night.

[17:27] So like everything is built just to sound haunted. In my like, it's just like that's the way it was developed. Like it or like creaky wooden, you know, wooden floors and stuff like that. So um I'd be very curious to see like what this place looks like.

[18:14] Did you get any pictures of like I I watched uh they have a bunch of videos on it, like the the ghost hunters crew or whatever did one, and there's a bunch of people that take tours and do it. And it's funny that you say about it just being an old house, like the way they renovated this thing, everything inside of it, as far as like the hardware and the wood arches and all that, it's all original from the 1880s. And you should have seen these hinges, they look super cool. There's this like flat screwdriver, but they all have the ornate decorations on it and stuff. I love that kind of stuff. Now, it wouldn't have been that spooky if just the one chick died from the flu. No.

[18:14] Now, the other wife also died from they don't know what inside the same bedroom as the original wife. Oh, yeah.

[18:57] Okay, that's where it gets that gets spooky.

[18:58] And also, of the nine people, one person burnt to death in the third story upstairs, and then uh there's the two-year-old granddaughter of SK Pierce himself died on the property from unknown causes. And um, a brother and sister somehow drowned in the basement of this house.

[19:20] Alright, drowning in a basement. That's weird.

[19:22] How does that happen? Right, all right. When I brought it up to Corbin earlier, he's like, What were they swimming? And I was like, there's no pool in the basement, bud.

[19:30] Like, so what, like a radiator break, and like, ah man. Alright, those types of deaths, boom, that that bumped it from the whatever, I guess that's kind of spooky to yeah, right. People burning death, people drowning in a basement, and now I'm instairs. Now I'm interested. Yeah. Confirmed spooky, I would say. What are your thoughts on that? Would you go to that house? Like if we were by if we got you a ticket, would you go?

[19:53] Would you go with me? Your own son. Yeah, we wouldn't just send you by yourself. And most favorite child.

[20:00] No.

[20:01] Oh, yeah. Yeah, that made her less resolute.

[20:08] That's a fact. Mom won't go through any haunted houses.

[20:11] What? Even like the corn measures out here? No.

[20:13] Nothing.

[20:14] Not even the cheesy little ones that go from town to town. No, I don't do those.

[20:19] That's that's fair. Real bah humbug of Halloween. I just don't want to be the one person who actually dies during one of those things. Like, what if like like one day someone's gonna escape from a sane asylum, go to one of these things? Right, nobody's gonna be like, like, ah, look at that actor, and then he's gonna get like that's my thought. That's my thought. That's a legit food.

[20:36] Because it's Circus Circus, right? That puts a big one on in Vegas.

[20:39] Yep. And then uh we went to a big one. There's a there's a big one. Oh, yeah. If we if you ever want to see something cool, we'll go to Vegas uh for Halloween, and the Circus Circus does the Fright Dome, and that thing's legit cool. But the best one is the Freakling Brothers, where it's three separate haunted houses all on the same property, and you have to sign a waiver just to get in. You know if you have to sign a waiver, and me and Megan went in there, it's a little expensive, but it was totally worth it. And then Megan hates being scared too, and the first thing out of her mouth was, I'll be fine as long as they don't separate us.

[20:39] The very first thing they're like, All right, everybody get in your own coffin.

[21:16] Oh, and you have to get into your own little wooden box.

[21:20] So uh they have like speakers in the little box, and it's like making noises, and I'm like, Oh, this is fun, you know? And then the coffin opens up itself on the other side, and then you walk out, and then I walk out, and then I see the other two people, because you can only go in small groups, see the other two people walk out, and I'm like, Where the [expletive]'s Megan?

[21:37] Yeah, you know, and then I just say it like, Megan, where are you? And then like I see her like peek out like the little door and she's like, is it safe? And I'm like, yes, it's safe, get out of here. The right hasn't even started. This is the beginning. Like, we just started, get out here.

[21:53] But that one was one of the best, except for uh they actually had real metal chains hanging down from the ceiling. And that sounds like a safety idea. Well, we got stuck behind this really fat broad. Like I hate to say it, but you know, it is what it is. She was a linebacker-sized chick. She was bigger than me. And the chains actually were electrified a little bit, so they shocked you. Oh my gosh. Yes. So that would have been horrible or that poor girl. So this poor fat girl man gets shocked from the chain, and all of a sudden she starts charging like a [expletive] rhinoceros, and she's flinging chains around all over the place, and it's a hazard. And Megan gets whipped right in the mouth with one of these chains.

[21:53] And I'm like, oh yeah, it almost ruined it, except for I was having such a good time that I kind of ignored it, you know. But they really played on the electricity part in this one room because then there was like another like bride of Satan chick in there dressed up in a wedding gown and stuff. And she like had a shocking gloves. You could see like the arcs coming off of her fingers. Wow. And she's like trying to touch you and like shock you basically. And I'm like, you're not touching me, [expletive]. And then I like leaned up on like a railing right there, and she like looked down at me and grabbed yes, and it hurts so bad, man. She got me. She knew what she was doing.

[21:53] I was like, You got nothing. And she like looked, like, boom, grabbed it. I'm like, oh but yeah, the Freakling Brothers one. I've never heard of those. Like, I didn't even know Vegas like did cool stuff like that. Oh, yeah, it's very big with that kind of stuff. Nice. And then uh we me and Megan actually made like a round robin kind of deal that one night. I think we did have Corvin. I think you got stuck watching Corvin all night.

[23:28] I got stuck, yes.

[23:29] Sorry, you had to watch my son. And there was one more we went to and it was complete trash. Where it got to the point we still paid money for it, but it was so bad. It was a white room with a strobe light and smoke. And we got in there and we just got lost. We were in there for 10 minutes, it felt like like, okay, you can come get us now. I don't know how to find the exit because you can't see anything because it's white with a strobe and smoke in there. And we're like, hello, is anybody work here? Like, we're not scared. Can we leave? Yeah, and nobody.

[23:29] So eventually I just had to like me and Megan both were putting our hands on the wall and just walking around the wall looking like [expletive] idiots. It's like one of Chris's puzzles. Yes. I'm like, there's no reason or rhyme to this thing, you know? And we we didn't even go see the other houses after that one. We're like, if this is what they have to offer us, absolutely that's that's messed up.

[24:24] Okay, question for you. Would you rather do you just enjoy being scared, or would you pay a lot of money to like encounter what you would consider like a real ghost experience?

[24:34] Ooh, I would pay money to have a real ghost experience. Real ghost experience. Yeah, okay. Yeah, or like a real, real, real. Yeah, I would pay money for that. Okay. Because I I I just like the things that are supernatural. Like, why do you think we play Call of Cthulhu or DD or and stuff like that? There have been numerous uh scratches and like people feeling bumped and stuff inside this house, and even I don't know how you feel about a nate or mom, a possible possession.

[26:37] Yeah, so uh the situation on the possession was it was the lady who bought the house just a couple years ago apparently got possessed, and she uh worked her way downstairs into the basement where she just started digging through. I don't know how basements are in New England, but apparently there's just dirt down there, and she could start digging through some dirt, and there was a bone of a 16-year-old female down there.

[26:59] So she was possessed to like, I'm just gonna dig, and then she found something.

[27:02] Yes, found the bones of a dead body still in the house.

[27:06] Or is the bone like so we can't confirm if she was possessed, but like was it confirmed like this chick did find a bone and it was a human bone?

[27:13] Yep, she brought it out and uh took it to a doctor or whatever, and it was verified that it was a hip bone of a 16-year-old female, certified spooky.

[27:22] Yes. Here's the thing though in New England, like they just bury people everywhere for a while, you know? Like, so that doesn't surprise me as far as you asked about like basements being dirt. Um, they just really range from a lot of times just like poured concrete. It was like a lot of what you see around there. I I didn't I never really encountered like dirt basements, but it's I think it's possible. Okay. Um I don't know. Maybe I I don't believe the possession thing. No, I I don't know. I I believe that she the spooky part I think is that she found a human bone in her basement totally by that. The whole like I was possessed. I don't know, I'll never buy that. Right. There's no way to prove that. Right.

[28:01] They try to, like, if you watch the the devil made me do it one or whatever, they tried to prove that it's not happening. You're just a crazy person at that point, or you're trying to get out of it.

[28:09] No way. I'm definitely like a skeptic. It would take a lot, like you have to like prove something pretty, pretty like tangible for me to believe that it's like supernatural.

[28:22] No, I think it was just uh you think it's just what people get publicity or something, you know, for their audience.

[28:28] Because she did just buy the house and had intention of turning it into something that makes sense. Yeah. Um let's see. Um oh, and there was one more thing. The there is one room in there, so we know that this was an inn at some point and then a boarding house. But they said there was potentially, there's a lot of potential stuff here. The illegal prostitution going on in this house. Oh, there definitely was. It probably was not pretend.

[28:56] Hence the dead 16-year-old in the basement.

[29:01] But they said uh in one of the rooms, if you go in and like throw a bunch of money on the bed at night, then somebody will do something to you. Not sexually, not sexually, but like we'll like bump you or scratch you or hit you or something like that.

[29:16] That is dumb. I want to try it. You're losing me now. Like, that's it's like if you put a quarter in this machine, uh like uh you'll turn big. Oh yeah. Uh creaky noise will happen. Like, I don't know. It's a bit manufactured at that point. Oh, I just want to believe bring ones to your ghost visit. Like, come on.

[29:35] I want to believe so bad. But yeah, the the house is in uh Gardner, Massachusetts, and I think if I'm ever there, I think I want to go check it out, even though now it's like a touristy trap thing, it's not like a real haunted house.

[29:46] Yeah, I would I would even have trouble going back home and trying to distinguish like there's a bunch of the historical ones, but a lot of them are like commercialized now by like just private owners. So it would be challenging to find one that's like still authentically spooky, right? Um, but there's a lot of stuff like that in New England.

[30:53] I mean, at least I had more than two sentences, you know. Like kids play baseball. Name that movie. Okay, and I did want to talk about one more. And then since we're going out and about, so I am from southern Nevada, and this is a hotel in Tonopah, Nevada. It's called the Mizpah. It was built in 1907. And if you've ever been to Tonopah, it's an old mining town, and there's tunnels, like literal tunnels underneath the streets of this town that go from the hotel and from other certain locations in this town back to the mine. That is awesome. Like that's how much over mine.

[31:30] Are you able to see those tunnels? You can.

[31:32] Uh, we went on the tour. I'd pay a lot of money for that. So I actually stayed the night in the Mizpah because, like Nate has said numerous times, I am a spooky [expletive]. Spooky. And the opportunity was given to stay there, and I'm like, [expletive] yeah, we gotta stay there. I gotta, I want to see a ghost. Super bad. It's supposed to be haunted. But we went on the tour, and you can take the elevator that goes down, and they still have um down in like a setting room, there's like a kitchen and stuff down there, but off to the side, there is still like a gate, an iron gate set up with an uh viewpoint of the old tunnels that connected throughout the town.

[32:06] That is amazing. So it's like haunted, like old like houses. That's like such a New England thing, like whatever, but I'm a dozen. Like, you know, people died in mines, like those conditions are good. So that is fascinating to me. These tunnel, like now that gets me excited. That is something I would go check out for sure.

[32:22] Oh, yeah. And the hotel itself was beautiful, and then uh, fun fact, it was the tallest building in Nevada until 1927. That's how it's like a nice hotel you'd figure for like a Wild West hotel. And but I didn't see any ghosts there, I was super disappointed. I was really looking at it. You just said it just wasn't the right time, or not the right room, maybe maybe it wasn't the right room because they said there's specifically one ghost there, and it's the lady in red, and they don't even have the full story on it, which it seems like that's always the case with these ghost stories.

[32:22] So either the lady was cheating on her husband, and the husband was supposed to go catch a train, which is Nate's favorite thing in the world, a train. And he came back because he missed his train and saw her pounding it out with some other dude and killed her, or she was a prostitute in a gambling town in Nevada, and prostitutes just get murdered left and right in the water.

[33:11] I mean, not even a joke, both of those highly likely, you know, time period and and whatnot. Um, I I I think I told you I I worked at a hotel, pretty much I paid my way through college working at a hotel, and I worked the night audit. Um, hotels are like crazy fascinating, and haunted hotels is a cool concept to me because so much weird stuff goes on at a hotel. Like, you know, when people are going to cheat on their spouses, they go to a hotel. Like when people don't want to know what other people are up to, they go to a hotel and work in the night audit. I saw all the time, you know. They even and it's weird too, as an employee, there's these policies.

[33:11] So I'm never allowed, most and I'm sure these are all still in effect. If someone, if you were to call and be like, I'm looking for and you give Megan's name, first and last name, we can't tell you what room they're in. We can't, we're not allowed to give even you could be you could literally be their spouse, whatever, their parent guardian, they can't tell you what room. Um we can't confirm if the guests are staying there. You have to tell me, like, connect me to room 216, I'll do that. But if you're like, is this person here or or I need to talk to my spouse? We can't do that. And that goes all the way, dates all the way back to the fact that like shady stuff happens at hotels.

[33:11] Um, so I can't imagine like the type of I've even talked to like other hotel workers, especially in like bigger cities, they'll have really cool stories. Um, I used to get like bribed all the time to do all kinds of stuff. I mean, my stuff was pretty minor. I was in like a small college town, but my the dumb thing for me was people wanted to use the pool after hours. And if you paid me enough money, I let you use the pool. You saw that was I was paying my way through college, okay? Um, but like stuff like that happens all the time.

[33:11] Like, like people paid me for better rooms, like people bribe me all the time, and also people bribed me for stuff that was actually free, like, so that's another thing too. Like, but like money talks, I don't know. So I I would love to. This is obviously a bit of a tangent, but I'm sure some spooky [expletive] has happened probably in that hotel and other hotels. I know a haunted hotel would be like the top, top of my list to stay on, yeah, for sure. Um, and I don't know, I know like American Horror Story is like a really kind of like lame mainstream show, but there was a season on like hotels, yes, and that one I thought was actually pretty cool with Lady Gaga, yeah, sure.

[33:11] She she was in there too, and whatever. But like But that was a good season, each because really each room can be so different, can tell its own story, right? Did I tell you the story? There was one night where obviously a lot of people brought prostitutes there, and one night one of them like you can even tell when they check in, like crazy high on drugs, but like my job is literally not to judge and whatever. I'm just there to as long as they have a credit card that authorizes and whatever, that's it. Well, late that night, uh I started getting calls from guests that someone was screaming up and down the halls saying, He's gonna kill me, he's gonna kill me.

[33:11] And it was one of the obviously one of the escorts was on a lot of drugs, or I don't know, maybe he did threaten to kill her, but he was just staying in his room. I even called his room. He basically just went to bed and shrugged it off. Right. And so I had to go upstairs. I was the only one there. I called the police, they didn't show up for like an hour. I had to like negotiate, like good cop, bad cop, like you're safe, it's okay. I had to like get her down in the elevator. And then I took the elevator with her, which in retrospect, I'm like, she could have like stabbed me or with like a needle or something. Like, that was a horrible idea.

[33:11] Street walker, literally after like an hour, I got her like out of there. I'm like, hey, like you have to go, like, you can't stay here. Right. Um, like, but you're not like he's not like he's not following you. I don't know.

[36:33] I just trying to like as you turn around, he's like right behind you, like in a boost.

[36:36] Right. And then literally, like as she's leaving, the police show up, and I'm like, cool, thanks for yeah, thanks for the help there. Speedy response. Job well done. Like, if I was actually in a situation, I would have been very dead. But anyway, like weird stuff happens all the time. And then housekeepers always have amazing stories of what they find in the rooms afterwards.

[36:55] Um, people are disgusting, and they do all those disgusting things out of stuff.

[36:58] Yeah, there's gross stuff, there's secret stuff. So, man, uh I I let's like find a haunted hotel. I'll check that out for sure. But then I want to go in like every room of like I don't even know what the business model felt. Like, I don't want to stay in one room, I want to like go to the different rooms and try to commune to people. Like, yeah, that would be, I don't know.

[37:14] I would want to try it because we got stuck just in the one room, and then I went up and down the stairs a million times and then in the bar, but didn't really see anything.

So I'm going just totally off town here off Kilter here, but uh I went on a cruise and I was joking with everybody that was like a ghost cruise because there was there was all these like weird dolls they had that looked they were like creepy looking like almost voodoo dolls and like com pens. What?

[37:39] Oh, like my cousin Adam, he's got a room full of dolls, like porcelain dolls.

[37:44] That's like that that's just just creepy. That's super creepy. And anyway, I would love a haunted like ghost cruise where like you have like unlimited alcohol, but also supposedly someone died on it. I don't know, right?

So uh from the Mizpah, you go, there's only two roads in all of Tonopah, there's an In and N Out, and you go down the road a little bit, and there is the Clown Motel. Now, the Clown Motel Has it always been called the Clown Motel. Yes, yeah. Yeah, and I [expletive] hate clowns more than anything in my life. I hate clowns. I did not know that about him.

[38:37] Yes, he does. He's a very afraid. That's why his bed still sits on the floor.

[38:42] What? I like to have a low-framed bed. Because of clowns? Nah, because it's just a coincidence that it is like that. For the longest time, I never even had a bed frame. It would just be box, spring, and mattress until I got with Megan and she's like, this [expletive]'s gotta stop. We can't sleep on the floor. I'm like, it's not on the floor. But, anyways, it's the clown motel, and mom and dad forced me to stay there one night because of dad. How old were you? How old was I when we stayed there? With dad's race, yeah.

[39:17] So why were you forced to stay there?

[39:18] Like you guys were traveling and you stopped there or yeah, his dad was racing his race car in Tonopah, and that was like the only place to stay.

They all have portraits of [expletive] bozo or Piero the clown or whatever. And it's [expletive] terrifying. Little lamps and stuff. I don't know if they think it's cute or what, but it's scary. No, I didn't sleep. And then we got to stuff. And he hasn't slept since. No, we got stuck going to those races the whole time. And like that didn't help anything. I would go back to that place.

[40:47] I think it was just a one night. Yeah. It wasn't that far from the house. We could have made it back home. We didn't have to sleep there, you know. Stuff costs money, Nate.

[41:53] Yes, that would have been better than staying in the clown motel. But as far as uh scary adventures, like that, that's pretty much it. I have seen a ghost. We talked about it earlier. I have seen a ghost, but that was in our house. Okay. Um, I believe it was the ghost of my grandpa coming out of my sister's room. Okay. And like I was sitting there playing games.

[42:14] When you say you've seen him a ghost, like what does that mean? Like it looked like like its physical looks just like your grandpa, or I was like hazy or no.

[42:21] So here's here's my my mentality that I've had ever since I was little. Okay. If something scares me, I won't look directly at it. So now it can't scare me. Right? So I'm sitting there playing games, and then out of my peripherals, I see a body, the same exact shape and everything, height as my grandpa, and I'm scared [expletive].

[42:40] So I just kind of like look over there like that, you know, like, oh, I don't see you, you know. Really great coping mechanism, by the way. It happens in my dreams too. Like if something's scary in my dreams, I'm just like, oh, I'm just not gonna look at you, and that's gonna make it better, you know.

[42:54] I don't know why my mind works like that. But then I saw him stop, turn in, because you can see quite a bit out of your peripherals, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm looking at you in my peripherals right now. It's the whole body shape. I know it's you, I know what you're doing with your hand and everything. And then stopped, turned, looked at me, turned back, and then went straight down the hall. And the very next day I asked Dad, like, Were you in Haley's room last night? No, boom, ghost. Okay. I knew it. Alright. I told you. I told you. Haunted. You're not gonna tell us your ghost story? Why? That's fine. All right, we won't bring it up then. Sorry. Okay.

[43:29] Um, I've never seen a ghost.

[43:31] No, not that I know of. No, you're missing. I can't no like instance. The creepiest thing that's ever happened was uh a massage therapist was like, Wow, you're really like tense, and then she's like, it's like I'm getting and she she has these like weird energies, and she's like, I'm getting this like this letter, and then she gave me a letter, and it was like something that I had been very stressed about. But now probability, right? I guess she had a one in twenty six. Chance, but she really targeted something that was like really messed up, and then I was like really freaked out, and she got this from massaging my shoulder.

[44:08] So I don't know that that was the closest to a psychic massage kind of deal.

[44:14] Dead serious. And up until that, I was like, okay, like, you know, you know, I have like some hippies, I have a lot of hippie friends. That's I'm gonna be honest. And so like I like amuse, you know, like I respect them. Like, do I believe in this stuff? No, but like when they talk about their interests or their hobbies or whatever, their expertise, sure. I I like I hear them out and I whatever. And so this was one of the ones she was just talking. I was like, whatever, I'm just gonna zone out and get my massage. And then as I was getting it, you know, like said, like, I was like, wow, this is really tense. Like, yeah, this comes from something deeper.

[44:14] She's like, Does this letter like it's something to do with this letter? And it was like a big thing, and I don't know, I believe, I believe talk about it because it was like a big, big issue in my life at that point, and I was just like freaked out. And it wasn't also like one of the top, it wasn't like RST L and E, you know, from my wheelboard, it wasn't like the common letter. So it I don't know. That one kind of spooked me a little bit, and I didn't know this person very well. And like it was like one of my first massages from her, right? So um I believe a hundred percent.

[45:09] That's that's the closest to a spiritual experience I've ever had. Did it make you feel weird afterwards?

[45:14] Um, I didn't get a massage right away, right? And now now I do sometimes still, but uh, but that was it, and after that, it's never happened again, but it was just like totally, totally bizarre, right?

[45:23] So because I like all those weird things, like seeing the ghost thing, or like my my worst thing is deja vu, and like I get such a weird feeling with deja vu because I've been having a lot of dreams lately where I die, and so now if I'm having deja vu with one of those dreams, I do something different. I'm like, oh my god, I dreamt about this and I died. So like I'm gonna go stand over here a little bit, you know, and then just to change it. I don't know if it's just my anxiety because of my dream or what, but uh, these deja vu dreams are terrible, they're wreaking havoc on my life.

[45:54] That's interesting. So it's so much I so I I I feel experiences a deja vu all the time, too, but it's almost the opposite. So here's a very calculated of like you did this one thing, so you alter like your decision. For me, like I have such a bad memory, and we joke about on the show, like I can never like remember the name of a title or an actor, or I get it wrong all the time, but it also plays into like I always feel like I'm reliving experiences, and I just can't quite remember what that experience was. We have another name for that.

[46:17] Oh, is there? Yeah, is there's actually like six or seven names if we're gonna I should have looked it up as we're talking about it, but there's like different levels of deja vu.

[46:25] Okay, that's that's the level I experienced. And for a while I thought, like, oh, I just it's I I can't remember this other thing that I did, but I'm like, maybe I never did this and I'm remembering something else. Like, you know, like something is almost like almost breaking through, but not quite, right? So I believe that's when I talk about like things we don't understand. Like there's probably more to the universe, but I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's ghosts or yeah, I don't know if it's alternate, I don't know if it's Nate variants on another timeline or or what.

[48:23] So it's like all quiet in the house with raining and thundering and lightning outside, and then all of a sudden we hear another girl scream. A big huge white dog jumps right through Nick's window right in in the middle of the night in the rain.

[48:45] Wait, so he had his window open, and for some odd reason, I don't know why your screen wasn't in your window.

[48:59] Did you fit through the window? You were chubby back then. No, it was a full sliding window, but I left it cracked when it rained because I like the smell of the rain coming in. And apparently this dog just wanted to scare the bejeepers. And I kid you not, Nate. It was that [expletive] part in Resident Evil when you're walking down the hallway and the dogs jump through the window. I swear to God, it was in that part, and this dog comes. So what else am I gonna do? I'm gonna scream like a girl.

[49:22] Yeah, you know? Yeah, obviously no one's expecting. So whose dog was that? Was this a stray dog or yeah?

[49:28] We had to call animal control. We kept it closed in Nate's room.

[49:33] And we it wasn't like [expletive] goes on in Nevada. Yeah, that's like this is what I'm getting. And we live, what what was the size of our property? Like it was fenced in. We lived on an acre and a quarter and it's fenced in.

[49:46] So somehow this guy got into the yard just to work his way into the room.

[49:51] Yes, and it looked just like the dog. And he had a big tree outside his window too, so it's like, how did you even know your window was open?

[50:05] Yes. I I thought I had a manly scream at the time, but apparently it wasn't. So there's that one. Me and mom have a lot of talking to do after the show. Yeah.

[50:25] I think this is a great episode. Wow. I learned I learned a lot about your family, about how creepy Nevada is. Yeah. Some some spooky horror stories. This is great. I I feel like a road trip or something is. Ooh, it's in the works. David is actually way more into this stuff than I am. Yeah. So I might he might be down.

[50:40] Ooh, yeah, he's gotta be. See. Because there's uh another place, like all of the we've been to all that stuff. There's another place, uh, Ryolite, that's supposed to be haunted, and that's in uh Beatty, Nevada. So it's on the way from Vegas going north, it's on the way to Tonopah. Okay, and it has all the old buildings there from the Wild West days, and there's supposed to be like a ghost train at night, you can hear. Oh my gosh. So we definitely have to go check that out. That's the one for that. But it's definitely cool because uh even the old uh vault is there from the old bank, so from the Wild West days, the bank, yeah. The old vault is still like encased there and it's perfectly standing there.

[50:40] But then some weirdo decided he's gonna go out there and do art out there and try to turn it into like a burning man type thing. No gosh. So there's a bunch of like those. Have you seen them? They're the the burlap and concrete statues. Oh, it makes it look like ghost people standing out there. So it's creepy when we go at night, yeah, but still, like during the day, you're like, come on, what is this? Yeah, like stop it. Not feeling that right, trying to turn it into a tourist attraction. Like, just stop.

[51:40] Yeah, just I don't know. I want to go to the places that haven't been touched, like those are the creepiest ones where you're like, This nobody has touched this property in like 50 years, and there's like moss growing on it, and [expletive]. Like, that's how you know this [expletive]'s messed up. Because then when you hear stuff and you see stuff, like no one's there, no one's been around. Yeah, I don't know.

[51:58] And the bravest person there would be Megan because she's be like, I bet they got [expletive] vintage clothes in there. Let's go in then. Odd shop vintage. Yeah, she says that anytime we drive by an old house, like, hey, let's go break in and see if they got any. I'm like, they don't have a pair of jeans in there, Megan.

[52:13] Have you ever done it? Like, seriously, have you ever not like broken house, but like have you ever like drove by a place that was super sketchy and you guys were like, let's go check.

[52:20] Uh only not with Megan, but with my work friends in uh a town called Fish Lake, also in Nevada, that we used to work at. There was an old barn, and they're like, let's go check it out. And I'm like, oh man, I don't know. It was the middle of the night. We do a BE on this barn, and like there's just a bunch of garbage and stuff all over the place. But the coolest thing was the barn was so old, it had a downstairs that led to a refrigeration, it wasn't a unit, they would just use the the like a cool cellar. Yes, they would just use like the basically the ground level and deeper as natural refrigeration, basically called a root cellar. A root cellar, thank you, mom. Wow.

[53:04] That's where you guys get trivia night. Must be a blast of your house. It's terrible.
